70-year-old senior MBBS doctor, with the history of Type-2 Diabetes and High blood pressure developed palmar plantar psoriasis for almost 6 months.
Initially he came to me to seek the advice. But was not ready to follow the whole food vegan diet due to long fed wrong perception that, this vegan diet can cause calcium and bone loss, protein and muscle loss etc. So he started initially allopathic conventional Medicines with lotions steroidal application etc. later he was given immunosuppressant called Aprenext in titrating dose to 15 mg BD for two months.
Unfortunately, he did not respond well and started developing depression, which was one of the ADR (Adverse drug reaction or side effects) of Immunosuppressants. So he stopped Aprenext on 10th April 2024 and re approached me and this time agreed to follow plant based vegan diet with the exception of little buttermilk to be allowed in Lunch and curry at night. Rest he stopped, no milk, no solid curd No non veg and No paneer.
In almost three weeks he responded well.
Only one medicine of herbal extracts of Manjishtha Giloy Saariva jatamansi etc. application of PSora oil to soften the skin.
He stopped applying his hydration lotion prescribed by dermatologist.
Today came with a great smile on his face and lots of blessings to me. And agreed the importance of diet.
I have discontinued my Medicnes and now putting him on only plant based diet.
I’m thankful to him for following the plant based vegan diet to his best.
